The West Bengal government is considering a strict law to regulate private school fees, Education Minister Bratya Basu announced in the Assembly. He stated that the government is exploring an Education Commission to standardize fee structures amid rising complaints about excessive hikes and financial pressure on parents. "There are numerous complaints regarding steep fee hikes, financial pressure on parents, and even issues like broken windows in schools," Basu said. The proposal is in early stages, with planned consultations involving education experts, school authorities, and parent representatives.
